Engineered Bamboo Flooring

Engineered bamboo flooring has a layer of strand woven bamboo on the surface and a base of plywood which gives the planks of bamboo flooring strength and stability.  The top layer of strand woven bamboo has been created by shredding the bamboo into strands of fibre and then compressing them together under extreme heat and pressure to produce a durable and strong flooring material. Strand woven bamboo is over twice as hard as Oak flooring, and is ideal for domestic areas with high footfall or commercial properties.

Having a plywood base means that the planks of bamboo flooring are more stable so can be engineered into wider planks than usual. Our engineered bamboo flooring is also compatible with underfloor heating.

If you would like to find out more information about engineered bamboo flooring, our Guide to Bamboo Flooring explains the structure, profile types and colours of the planks of bamboo flooring in more depth, and our Guide to Engineered Bamboo Flooring may help to answer any further questions you may have.

WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE ENGINEERED BAMBOO FLOORING?

Engineered bamboo flooring is the perfect choice if you are looking for a natural floor covering that is versatile and strong. It can be installed in almost any room in your property, used with underfloor heating, and is a truly sustainable material.

Our engineered bamboo flooring is available in two colours; natural and carbonised.  Natural bamboo has the natural golden and pale yellow tones of bamboo, whereas carbonised bamboo has been smoked during the manufacturing process which gives it a richer coffee brown colour.

If you would like to find out more about bamboo flooring, how it is made, why it is a sustainable flooring product, its eco-friendly properties, and of course why it may be ideal for your home, please have a look at our Blog where you will find useful articles about bamboo flooring and also read about the Advantages of Bamboo Flooring.

HOW DO I INSTALL ENGINEERED BAMBOO FLOORING?

All of our engineered bamboo flooring comes with a click-fitting system, making the installation process more straightforward. It can be either floated over an underlay or fixed into position by gluing to the subfloor. For more details of how to install your bamboo floor, please have a look at our Bamboo Flooring Fitting Guide.

ARE THERE ANY MATCHING FLOORING ACCESSORIES?

To complete the look of your room, we stock a wide range of matching Bamboo Flooring Accessories, including skirting boards, beading, stair nosing, thresholds, and pipe covers.  These should be everything you will need to cover any gaps and add the finishing touches to your project.

HOW DO I LOOK AFTER ENGINEERED BAMBOO FLOORING?

Engineered bamboo flooring is very easy to look after. You can keep your bamboo looking shiny and new by adopting a cleaning routine of daily sweeping (with a soft brush) followed by a weekly clean with a wooden floor cleaning solution and microfibre mop.

Green Binder

The Green Binder™ is the environmentally friendly performance binder which can be replaced 100% of OPC in existing designs.

The Green Binder™ is more than just a performance binder. It has a calculated carbon emission factor (CEF) of less than 0.1 versus OPC (cement) 0.88 and CAC cements between 1.2 to 1.4.

Durra Wall Systems

Durra Beams as Girts

Durra Beams can span between structural columns as girts to create complete modular wall systems. By using the Durra Lifting Frame, modules can be lifted onto the structure, complete with selected cladding.

Durra Beams as Studs

By utilising Durra Beams as wall studs, you can create high performance acoustic linings independent to your project’s external wall system. This application is ideal for large scale fit-outs in warehouses, sound stages and studios.

Wall Lining

Durra Panel can be stacked up and mechanically fixed to wall girts as an impact resistant acoustic lining. Durra Aluminium Sections complete the finish as a polished trim between horizontal and vertical panel joints.
