Comfrey macerate using comfrey leaf from our late June 2022 harvest and organic olive oil.
NB This year (July 2022-April 2023) this comfrey oil is macerated in organic Olive Oil (olea europea- origin Italy). We have a limited amount now available for sale.
NB: Due to extremely limited world stocks of organic sunflower oil due to Russias attack on Ukraine. (our organic sunflower is from Europe), we will be unable to offer stocks of the comfrey oil macerate with sunflower for sale in 2022. We are using the organic sunflower we have secured to make a comfrey macerate with sunflower, for all our products that contain this valuable ingredient.
For clients who use this macerate, who wish to still use comfrey with sunflower oil - many find an equally effective substitute (or some find it even better and report it more user friendly than an oil) is our Comfrey Ointment which is made with the comfrey oil macerated with sunflower.
Comfrey macerate, luscious green, full of goodness - our comfrey oil (macerate).
In ancient times comfrey was called 'knitbone',' all heal' or 'woundwort' and was used topically for healing cuts, bruises, fractures, sprains, injured tendons/ligaments, sores and skin ulcers.
On the skin, it is an emollient, soothing and was used to heal scars and blemishes. It was also said to promote a youthful complexion. The Latin name 'symphytum' means 'heal together'. It is now believed that the allatoin (a main component of comfrey) is responsible for the growth and multiplication of skin cells.
Wild-crafted comfrey (symphytum officinale) macerated in organic olive oil (olea europea). The comfrey is gathered from private ground in rural Aberdeenshire and only the best flowers, leaves and roots are used in the macerate, to give optimum potency. All processes are undertaken by hand - no mechanical extraction. From field to container is all undertaken in one day to ensure ultimate freshness, and then the olive and comfrey are left to slowly macerate until all the goodness is transferred to the oil (rich green in colour with a slightly herbal scent).
For external use only - not to be taken internally
Comfrey leaf (symphytum spp.) origin is Scotland, UK and the Olive Oil (olea europea) is from Italy

what our customers say:
"I was told many years ago I had the early symptoms of a mild form of rheumatoid arthritis which has over the years manifested itself - mostly hands and feet and lower back. I find massaging and kneading in the comfrey oil in my lower back morning and/or night has made such a difference. I wish I had found it a long time ago. The Oil also helps my hands especially at night - they are not so stiff and sore in the morning" A Kelman, Aberdeenshire.
