Food Recycling

With an efficient weekly or fortnightly collection service it could not be easier for our customers, as we provide the bins (120 or 240 Ltr), kitchen caddies & bag inserts, at NO EXTRA COST. We can also advise your staff, giving information and advice on how to reduce food waste and on what can be recycled, saving you money too!  

We are committed to helping the environment at Gray Compost, therefore we do not only collect your food waste but recycle it into a useable resource. The organic compost is then used as a soil improver on agricultural land, providing a peat and fertiliser free alternative and contributing to the circular economy. 

As we are a local business our carbon footprint is very small compared to other waste collection services that travel many miles to discard the waste. 

Step One

We collect your waste

We provide Bins, Caddy’s and Liners.  Regular weekly or fortnightly collections are made from your premises.

2 Step Two

We screen & shred

And blend the waste creating ultimate moisture, PH & Air.

3 Step Three

Waste is stored

For a minimum of 4 weeks microbial action generates heat to over 70 degrees

4 Step Four

We process it

We then move the compost to a maturation building where composting continues.

5 Step Five

We recycle it!

We then have PAS100 material that is no longer a waste and is used on farmland as a soil improver.
