Gyprock Plus is made in Australia and accredited to Australian Standard AS2588 through SAI Global. It is made up of a gypsum plaster core that is wrapped in heavy-duty linerboard paper with bonded edges.
This plasterboard is manufactured with Optimised Core technology and a stronger, thicker, buff coloured face paper.
Optimised Core plasterboard has an advanced performance-to-weight ratio, meaning greater breaking strength in a substantially lighter board that continues to exceed the performance requirements of Australian Standard AS2588.
Gyprock Plus is available in a thickness of 10mm and in widths of 1200mm and 1350mm. In a horizontal setout, the 1200mm sheet width suits standard 2400mm ceiling heights and 1350mm suits 2700mm ceilings.
Gyprock Plus is available in different edge profiles for a variety of installation options.
RE is the standard profile for most plasterboard where both long edges of the board feature a recess that tapers approximately 60mm in from the edge. When butted together, these long recesses assist in producing a smooth, even and continuous surface when a jointing system of tape and compound is correctly applied.
Typical applications:
RE/SE has one square edge and one recessed edge and is manufactured as a wider sheet (1210mm). This combination allows the square edges to be placed at the floor and ceiling with standard horizontal jointing where the boards meet.
