The conversion of sun rays into direct current (DC) takes place in the solar module, completely automatically and without the need for moving parts. The module consists of up to 120 small silicon-based photovoltaic cells connected in series or in parallel. In order to protect the photovoltaic cells against external environmental influences such as hail or corrosion, the interconnected photovoltaic cells are attached to an aluminum frame and covered with a pane of glass.
