The warranty also clearly states that SunPower will pay to de-install, ship and re-install a new panel in the event of a failure, unlike others that only reimburse the value left on the warranty, e.g., if you have a bad panel after 5 years they will only reimburse you for 80% of what you paid originally. All panels degrade over time, the SunPower panels specifies 0.6% per annum versus 0.7% from other manufacturers. However, in 3rd party testing SunPower panels have been seen to be only 0.2%. This panel is more forgiving of micro cracks and shading versus the conventional panels and comes at a very competitive price.
