Solid and Engineered Wood Parquet Flooring

Timber floors are a great way of introducing elegance and warmth into any living space. Cost is one of the main reasons why home owners in Singapore often shy away from using solid wood. 

Solid wood flooring is hardwood top to bottom, side to side. It is typically 3/4 inch thick and 2-1/4 inch wide. Plank width range from 5 to 11 inches. Solid wood is installed by nailing or stapling, never on floating basis.

Engineered wood is a layered product. It is manufactured by bonding together various layers of wood with grains, alternating at 90 degrees between each layer with lamella installed as the top wear layer. This ingenious process of material integration is what makes engineered wood flooring less susceptible to expansion and contraction.
