Hevea wood flooring is also known as rubberwood. It is considered to be one of the best wood products in the world for a number of excellent reasons. Primarily it is very environmentally friendly. The tree is only harvested from working rubber plantations after their primary use has been served. The land is then re-planted to be used again.
Rubberwood flooring is also considered to be hard-wearing, so is well suited for a long-lasting floor. Just don't confuse hard-wearing with scratch-proof. All solid wood floors will mark and scratch lightly over time and require protection. Read our solid wood aftercare guide to find out more. With just a little care, a hevea wood floor will last a lifetime.
Another fantastic property of hevea flooring is stability. After kiln drying, this wood is more stable with changes in humidity and moisture than most other wood types, which means less movement.
Each plank is solid hevea wood, in a 4 strip plank with T&G edges. The solid wood is 13mm thick with 7 coats of UV lacquer to protect and enhance the finish.
And of course, we think that this floor looks fantastic. We have chosen a rustic grade for a more vibrant and natural look.
