I remember the time from my childhood, this used to be at my grandparents house to every household and how fascinating I was by it! ???? Did you know that every synthetic sponge you use ends up in a landfill and takes up to 52,000 years to decompose? Gulp right?? ???? Well, worry not... this coir scrubs/sponge is extracted from coconut husks, which is a by product of coconut harvesting. This fiber is harvested, washed, cleaned and then press into coir blocks to create these sponges. This local community based enterprise supports the small time Sri Lankan coconut farmers through the sale of these eco friendly products.
