STAG MINSTREL TALLBOY REFINISHING DETAILS

It was a pleasure to bring this vintage mid-century tallboy back to life.

I love refinishing Stag Minstrel Furniture. Its clean lines and solid form make it a pleasure to paint. I follow a careful process of prep and that really enables me to get a great finish.

This particular tallboy is painted in Fusion Mineral Paint - Ash. It's a beautiful acrylic paint that leaves a flawless finish. Ash is a lovely rich colour that works well in most schemes.

For this piece, I wanted to add a touch of elegance and luxury with the addition of gold and geometrics. I chose a beautiful wallpaper with a marbled base and gold geometric pattern. Then I teamed it with some gold metallic paint around the edges of the drawers.

I added some gorgeous orange scented wax to the drawers. Then once I'd checked that they all ran smoothly, I lined them with the same geometric wallpaper.

For a final touch of luxury, I've added heavy brass handles with knurled edges. They enhance the fabulous quality of the piece and compliment the geometric wallpaper and gold edging perfectly.

Lastly, I've protected the whole piece with a clear topcoat for added durability and a low sheen.
