Best friends and former roommates, Katie Forsyth and Claire McLoughlin founded Friendly Composting in March 2020 as an ambitious project to tackle food waste within the Kamloops community. Since then, they have diverted over 800,000lbs of food waste from the local landfills, where it would otherwise release methane, a powerful greenhouse gas. The Friendly team promotes sustainability within our community by providing waste management solutions and education for local businesses and residents.
