Yes, cork is 100% natural, reusable and recyclable and biodegradable. It is thought to be one of the most sustainable and versatile materials on our planet. The cork oak tree takes 25 years to mature before it can be harvested. Once matured the outer bark is removed by specialist extractors, using handmade tools that have been refined over the centuries.

Once the first harvest has been completed, it will be left for between 9 years and 13 years before the next harvest is taken, allowing the bark to regenerate. This cycle continues throughout the lifetime of the tree, which is usually 150 – 200 years.
