Our Mission

We are on a mission to encourage people to grow at least some of their own food organically. Organic growing helps protect the environment, improves soil health, and encourages biodiversity. By using organic seeds, you are supporting organic farmers and promoting acres of land under organic management.

About Tamar Organics

Tamar Organics started as a small organic market garden in 1994 and has been registered with the Soil Association as producers since then. In 2000, we added our processor license and became one of the first UK companies to offer organic seeds.

Our mail order catalogue began as we searched for organic compost, fertiliser, and seed for our own use, and has expanded year after year. All our vegetable, herb, and flower seeds are organic, as are the onions, shallots, garlic, seed potatoes, and plant material we sell.

Our Products

The composts and fertilisers we offer are all permitted for use in organic systems (seek permission from your certifying body if you are registered). Our pest control products are the most environmentally friendly available, and all miscellaneous products are chosen for their green credentials.

Quality Assurance

We are inspected annually by the Soil Association and the Plant Health Seed Inspectorate. We also participate in the GMO audit, and do not support the development of genetically modified seeds—none of our seeds are GMOs.
