Zareba

The precursor to Zareba Systems, Northern Signal Company of Milwaukee, WI, was one of the pioneers in the U.S. electric fencing market with its Northern Signal, Electro-Line, and Blitzer brands of fence controllers. Founded by Ewing Nunn and Frank Schneider, the company had humble beginnings, initially operating out of Mr. Schneider’s basement. When their attempts to market their products to existing fence manufacturers met with little interest, they took matters into their own hands. The pair decided to sell the fence controllers themselves, eventually securing a distributor in Whitewater, WI, and establishing a foothold in the market.
